I finally found a plain old rope jump rope

Finally found a good old rope jump rope like the ones of my youth - no fancy bells and whistles. Who knew something as simple as a jump rope could have bells and whistles? But there are some out there that do.

So, this is a regular jump rope of my youth - back when we would cut a piece of rope from my mother's wash line rope. This is the same kind of rope, but not as thick and heavy. It has wood handles that do not have ball-bearings in the handles (bell and whistle). It's just plain rope with wooden handles.

So, this was exactly what I was looking for...but...it's kind of light-weight. The reason I wanted a good old fashioned jump rope was so that I wouldn't hurt myself with one of those new plastic kind and so that it would be heavier than plastic ones, do It would actually HIT the ground, not just touch it. To solve that problem as a kid with clothes line, we would tie a knot in the middle of the rope to add weight, so that should work with this jump rope, but...once you do that, of course, it shortens the rope. I'm short, 5'4", so it still works for me, but it you're tall? you might have a problem with it.

Overall, I'm mostly happy with this rope, it is what I was looking for, I just wish it was a little bit longer (to allow two knots because one is still a little light). Now, let's hope I can actually use it for more than 4 jumps in a row! Hopefully, it's kind of like riding a bicycle and "it will come back to me"! :)

Overall, the rope is what it says it is and performs what it says it will.

Not quite long enough

I liked this rope okay but it wasn't long enough (I remember for school-day gym class that the rope handles are supposed to go to your armpit when you step between the rope). I was able to get through a few jumps but ended up catching the rope. I attribute that to the length. I'm also 5'10 so keep that in mind.

The rope arrived with one section glued to the handle. It was easy to pull apart though. The wood handles are a bit rough and not comfortable to hold for to long. The rope is short. I am only 5'2" and I cant even complete more than a few jumps without tripping. I use the jump ropes at the gym and can get 70-100 jumps in. Was hoping to get a workout in at home but this will not work for that.

Man bekommt hier ein gutes und einfaches retro Sportgerät das funktioniert und sich vom Design her vonder Masse abhebt.

DIe Holzgriffe liegen gut in der kleinen Hand. Das Seil ist meiner Meinung nach kein Baumwollseil und auch fehlr klar eine einfache Verstellmöglichkeit für die Seillänge. Das mehrfarbige Seil sieht gut aus und ist auch stabil und wertig.
